Our History

Safety Engineering Business in Canada and the USA

ZCS is a diversified business group with interests in Safety & Engineering. Our focus on Innovation and Intrapreneurship and our reliance on the latest technology for managing our business divisions have helped us remain a lean and effective organization resulting in our rapid growth.

In the Beginning

The firm’s initial business activities were centered on its role as a vendor for automotive tier 1 suppliers serving as an extension of their plant process engineering teams. This led the firm’s associates to witness numerous hazards that machine operators running equipment in these factories were exposed to on a daily basis. Among the first in the Industry to recognize the critical need for turnkey safety services, ZCS launched a safety engineering business (ZCS AKIA Engineers) which provided end-to-end solutions to manufacturing plants and machine builders making equipment safer for machine operators and compliant to local safety standards.

This combination of manufacturing process improvements and turnkey safety solutions, managed by an exceptional team of engineering specialists, helped increase ZCS sales over 500% in its second full year of business.

Expansion

Following on the heels of this recognition, ZCS launched a major expansion program in 2011-2012. This included setting up a second engineering office in Newmarket, Ontario and signing a long term agreement with an Indian solutions provider to set up a third managed engineering office in Gurgaon, India. This resulted in a large increase in operating capacity translating into further growth in revenues of about 100% in 2012.

ZCS - safety engineering business is now serving over 200 customers in Canada and the USA and continuing to add new customers each month while ensuring continuously improved and new service offerings are made available to our existing customer base.

Continued Growth

In December 2017, ZCS announced its fourth office location coming up in Mississauga, Ontario. This office is expected to come online in the summer of 2019 & will consist of engineering and sales team members.

In 2018, ZCS expanded its customer base by acquriing 'Stark Safety Ltd.' ZCS' sales and management team worked closely with the management of Stark Safety to ensure a smooth transition.

Looking towards the Future

For 2019, ZCS anticipates continued expansion in response to an ever-increasing need for its engineering and safety services. Several new office locations in Canada and USA are in the works over the next 3-5 years.

ZCS service goals are still predicated on its ability to stay ahead of the technology curve in all its business divisions, constantly innovate to reduce cost and increase efficiencies and focusing on improving the overall customer experience.
